Way of Life

Way Of Life is a series of typographic and photographic posters that depict certain culturally significant events or values in Japan. On my recent trip to Japan, I noticed how much these three concepts formed the Japanese way of life.

The first, Hanami, is the celebration of the blooming of the cherry blossoms each spring. It represents new life, but also fleeting beauty and intangibility.

The second is Shinto - a religion in Japan that follows ideals of nature and imperfection that is reflected in many ways in Japan including architecture, fashion, food and lifestyle.

The final is Wabi Sabi which, like Shinto, embodies a perfectly harmonious way of life for the Japanese people.
